Klein Welmoed Foothills Dry Rosé 2021

Ideal conditions for an outstanding dry rosé 

Experienced winemaker, Bernard Le Roux, has produced the great Dry Rosé 2021. Bernard has been part of the Foothills / Klein Welmoed team since 2014 and is passionate about producing site-specific wines that reflect the unique terroir. Situated at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains, about 6 kilometres from False Bay and within sight of the Atlantic Ocean, the vineyards enjoy the cool sea breeze. The well-drained sand, gravel and granite-clay soils contribute to the natural balance of the young vines and their yields. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted in the cool morning at 22.5 to 23 degrees. The grapes are lovingly placed in crates, which minimises damage to the fruit. 

A delicate copper-pink colour with flint shines through the wine bottle. An original blend that aims to offer something different: Shiraz for the colour and berry flavour, Semillon for the soft mouthfeel and Viognier for the aromatic and tropical notes.

The complex effect is expressive, elegant and refined. A dry rosé, which means that pairing with food is not a problem, but also very good to drink on its own!
