Rosendal Merlot 2016

A good Merlot should be part of the repertoire of every self-respecting winery. Rosendal's Merlot is warm and full in flavour as well as colour, ruby red and full of sunshine.

We were immediately impressed by the wide range of flavours in this wine when we tasted it. This rich Merlot red wine has flavours of juicy plums and ripe mulberries. This is accompanied by fragrant mint and melt-in-the-mouth chocolate.

This Merlot has even been awarded the "Veritas Bronce" prize for its outstanding flavour. Rosendal Estate quickly impressed us with its excellent wines and we are happy to be their exclusive distribution partner.

The full-bodied red from the Western Cape

The Rosendal estate is located directly on the famous Route 62 in South Africa. With its truly breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and an integrated 4-star guesthouse, it is a real highlight in the area.

In addition to the hotel and the sunny surroundings, there is also a restaurant on the grounds of the Rosendal estate. South African dishes with exotic flavours are served there. Of course, delicious wines from the estate's own vineyards are also served.

This Merlot is no exception. It impresses with its versatility and yet intense, full-bodied flavour with moderate tannins and a soft finish. The special climate of the West Cape can be clearly tasted in this Merlot from Rosendal.

Merlot - the perfect wine for a romantic dinner

A glass of Merlot with a romantic dinner is a good and safe choice. This full-bodied and warm wine goes very well with dark meat dishes with beef, game, duck and lamb. It also goes perfectly with savoury and mature cheeses as a starter.

Spices such as coriander, black pepper, rosemary and cinnamon should be used in the dishes so that they go perfectly with the Merlot. Vegetables should also be prepared in a savoury way; ratatouille or au gratin aubergines are perfect here.
