We recommend all wine lovers who have already enjoyed the wines in Durbanville, Stellenbosch, Robertson or Malmesbury to relax for a few days in the Cape region and enjoy some great excursion destinations. Lively and multifaceted: Greenmarket Square

Cape Town is the mother city of the Cape region, whose cityscape is characterised by the sea and the mountains. It is an extremely fascinating city and also the oldest in South Africa. The best place to start your exploration tour is in the heart of Cape Town: Greenmarket Square! The market is one of the liveliest hubs and is located on a historic cobblestone square. Every day, after the traders have dragged their curiosities onto this square, the market comes to life. This is one of the best places to buy gifts for the home, leather goods, handmade jewellery, stunning canvas artworks, sculptures and much more. You will be able to stroll for hours among the colourful stalls, meet many eccentric local characters and find numerous treasures as souvenirs. When setting a price, always remember that the locals earn their living from the sales. Therefore, always pay a fair price. However, negotiations are charming and appropriate.

Victoria and Alfred Waterfront

A great atmosphere with cool and interesting sights awaits you on the waterfront. Street musicians, amateur actors and of course the sailing yachts are at their best here. You can watch the cargo ships and fishing boats coming in and out of the harbour, which is still in operation and where shipyard work is also carried out. The wide range of leisure and entertainment options also includes numerous offers of helicopter flights over the city and the Cape Peninsula, as well as boat tours.

If you just want to admire and enjoy the South African flair, simply visit the numerous restaurants with their varied offerings. Shopping in the neighbouring mall is a little reminiscent of Europe.

You can also make an appointment at the Waterfront, either directly or online, to cross over to Robben Island, a former prison island, for another day. The island is now a natural and national monument and houses a museum in the former prison building. Sometimes you are lucky and can start the crossing directly on site, if time permits. At the end of such a day, you can chat about the many impressions over a glass of wine or share your photos with your loved ones at home.
