DA Hanekom Langrug Malbec 2019

Langrug Malbec bears the name of the Hanekom family farm.

The dry, rugged plains, gently meandering river courses and beautiful sunsets in the Karoo were the inspiration for the name of this cheeky red wine. The more than 100 synonyms for this grape testify to its great age and wide distribution. The Malbec grapes come from fifteen-year-old trellised vineyards. Slow ripening leads to excellent varietal flavours. The wine is matured for eighteen months in French oak barrels.

The wine is a deep purple colour, almost black, with aromas of black fruits. A hint of caramel, plums and spice as well as an elegant, long-lasting finish complete this flavour experience.
