The Hornfels is a very special blend and combines the best of its vines. It consists of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Franc. Merlot and Malbec are also added.

This Cuvee' has already received several awards for its harmonious combination and extravagant flavour. It received four stars from John Platter in 2013, the "Gold Veritas" in 2014 and bronze at the "Old Mutual Trophy Show" in 2015.

Dark red and flowery - the hornfels

The flavour and aroma of Hornfels spoil real red wine fans! Here, the classic vines show that they have been harmoniously combined by an experienced winemaker. The Cabernet Franc gives the wine a bouquet of fresh spring flowers and crushed chalk.

Ripe fruit can be tasted. The Merlot also lets a hint of decadent plum shimmer through. Dark chocolate, blackcurrant and cedar wood resonate thanks to the Cabernet Sauvignon.

Despite its richness of flavour, this wine is not overloaded. Its unique style, which manages to emphasise the contribution of each variety in its own right, makes this Bordeaux blend an absolutely recommendable top wine.

Still edible for a long time

This wine clearly belongs in the slightly higher price segment. However, it is really worth every cent. As wine lovers, we can enthusiastically recommend it! It has an excellent concentration of fruit and a well-defined finish.
