Boutique family winery from Durbanville "Klein Roosboom"

In the past, many farmers have practised different variations of agriculture on the land of the Klein Roosboom boutique vineyard, as it is very fertile. Since the 1980s, the Villiers Klein Roosboom family has taken it over for winegrowing. The cool south-easterly winds from the Atlantic Ocean sweep across the vineyards and are excellent for producing top quality grapes. As a result, South African white wines in particular are rich and interesting in flavour. Let us inspire you.

The Brut MCC

The first production of Klein Roosboom's 'Brut MCC Marne' took place in 2007.
Karin de Villiers decided to produce sparkling wines with great fondness. Previously, she sold the harvested grapes to neighbouring large wineries. Thus Klein Roosboom was born and is still owned by the family!

What does the term MCC mean?

The broad term Champagne is protected and may only be used for sparkling wines whose grapes come from the Champagne wine-growing region in France. Cultivation in the Champagne region is subject to strictly defined rules, as is the pressing of the grapes for the sparkling wine. In 1992, the term Cap Classique or Methode Cap Classique = MCC was introduced in South Africa for the term Champagne method (Methode Champenoise) for the locally produced sparkling wine.

The friendly and cosy rooms for special moments

The de Villiers family transformed old concrete wine tanks into a cosy, individual wine tasting room with charming caves, the likes of which you will probably not find anywhere else in South Africa! The Klein Roosboom team cordially invites you to have fun and live a little here. The friendly and open wine stewards are always willing to share the stories of the winery and knowledge about Klein Roosboom wines in an entertaining and informative way.

Klein Roosboom is looking forward to your visit, which Kapvinum will be happy to organise: kleinroosboom.co.za

The physical well-being is very important to the Klein Roosboom team

The wine tastings, which you can enjoy in good company with friends, acquaintances or alone in the so-called caves, are of course accompanied by platters of cold meats and/or cheeses with fresh farmhouse bread, as you wish. The Klein Roosboom Restaurant "Jean", which opened in 2019, is run by dedicated staff. It's well worth a visit! The team wants to spoil you and surprise you with ordinary South African dishes. The flavours are familiar, nostalgic and traditional. The food is prepared with love.

The KAPVINUM team hopes you enjoy your visit to the Klein Roosboom boutique winery.
