Hofstraat Kelder Renosterbos Barbera 2019

The Barbera grape variety originally comes from Piedmont in northern Italy.

This robust and high-yielding vine is cultivated throughout Italy and in many other countries such as Argentina, Mexico, Greece, Australia, Slovenia, Romania, the USA, Israel, Uruguay and South Africa.

Babera is currently the third most important grape variety in Italy after Sangiovese and Montepulciano. These high-quality wines are vinified as single varietals. Barbera wine is characterised by its crisp, natural acidity and relatively low tannin content. Despite the low tannins, this successful Barbera red wine is neither flat nor monotonous.
